Thank you Dario for this interview!!!!
What age did you start to play guitar and what brand of guitar was it?
I start to play guitar quite late, during the high school period, my first guitar was a cheap echo "cobra mk4" in a davoli tempest amp, after this I bought an awful fender stratocaster with a marshall.
What all instruments do you know how to play?
I play guitar and bass and I can program very credible drum parts.
When and what made you decide to play music for a living?
It's not a decision, it happens naturally, if you really want you can make of your hobby a profession.
Can you tell us what is your favorite equipment? Guitars, Amps, Strings etc.
Now i'm playing heavily modified strats and line 6 equipement.
When did you first ever hear Tony Martin?
In 1987 with Black sabbath in reggio emilia during the eternal idol tour.
If I remember correctly you first meet Tony Martin while production of Aldo Guintini Project 2. Is that correct or
how else did you come to meet Tony Martin?
Correct, Tony was a friend of Kit Woolven, coproducer of Giuntini album.
What did you see in him that made you want to have him as the singer for The Cage?
During Guintini sessions I played to tony some of my songs and we decided to work together.
How much of the time did you and Tony together in person write/record The Cage. And how much did you do separate.
In other words I’m asking in general how did the writing/recording go?
I write/record the music, I send the backing tracks to Tony Who write the vocal lines and the lyrics and after we record the vocals here in my studio.
Did The Cage 2 go the same way?
Yes.
How far along did the plans go to do live shows with either Cage albums?
It could be a good idea after the release of the next cage album.
How often do you and Tony Martin associate outside of making The Cage albums?
Tony came to my house for holidays a couple of times and I met him during my UK tours with Bonnet Airey band.
Looking back now how do The Cage albums stand to you?
I rarely listen to my music, but when I did it I'm very pleased with some songs.
It looks as if The Cage 3 will be apon us. How far has the album came along, has Tony Martin began any work on it,
and do you have any idea when it might be out?
We are writing the songs, I would like to release it as soon as possible, Tony's vocals in this album are amazing.
Is there any message you would like to tell the persons who ever read this?
I want to thank everybody who support this kind of music.
All the best.
Thank you for your time Dario. Dream come true to ask you these questions. Hope there wasnt too many!!!!!!
